So, I was waiting to post anything til it was all signed sealed and delivered, but I have some awesome news. I just got hired as an assistant acquisitions editor for an academic press in Washington DC! I’ll be acquiring for their anthropology list, about 30-40 titles a year to start. I’m moving to DC at the end of the month, and I start on October 1st.
So, like, whoa!
Details about goodbye parties, etc, will be forthcoming. For now, I must spin…
sad
I love you. One of the many reasons is taht you can put things in such a way that they mean something to my heart. And I am wishing your grandmother safely home.
Sooo happy for you!
Holy shit congratulations…
man – another one bites the dust
The Changeling Diaspora spreads far and wide: San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, DC. Fly far, little dandylion motes… and seed the world with magic, glamour, and revolution.
See what I did there? I got all poetic in my old age.
too bad you dont know anyone in the DC area…oh, wait.
Congrats to you! and yeah. like whoa! fast changes in the air.
forward i say!
Yeah. Alison and I are already talking about gaming and other stuff we can do together ;>
Oh, the gaming and geekery to be done!
Gah! I…somehow I can’t quite mentally juxtapose you and my old stomping grounds. My suggestion is go to the museums. Ah, big, beautiful, *free* museums. Another cool person leaves Bloomington…*sniff*. But, you get to go on and do cool stuff for your life which is, uh, cool. (Heh, ear-ly in the morning). And yes, going away party is a must.

You and the moon will have an excuse to come out even more often. Maybe bring the fox along. Road trip!
WHOA!!!!!!!! OMG!!! You and Allison will have fun!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!! This is a wonderful career move. yay you!
Danke, darling! I’m excited because the dance landscape just opened up like whoa!
yes truly!!! Ooo you could start performing again!!!
Whoa! Congratulations, that’s awesome!
Many thanks!
wo0ts!
::Grins:: Also, less commute time means more time to write and read fanfic!
I like the writing fanfic. I have not seen anything from you in a long time.
!!!!!
Congratulations!!!
I don’t know what I’m going to do about getting a writing group together. Maybe we could start Scat Hard-Online (heh… I said hard-on!)
That’s awesome! Congrats!
Danke. It’s keen cause I get to stay tapped in to the current trends in anthro.
Duh. That was me, being not so signed in.
Congratulations!
Y’know, New Jersey isn’t really that far from DC. We’ll have to get together. Casey and I are hosting a big Rocky Horror convention in Atlantic City (which is quite close to DC) on the 26th & 27th. If you’re on the East Coast by then, you should come up and hang out with me, Casey, Patricia Quinn, and Little Nell. 🙂
Cheers!

Ooh. October or September? If it’s October, definitely. Sign me up! If September, it might be a bit more up in the air, since I was thinking about driving out that weekend. Still and all, the possibility of hanging with you guys is a strong incentive to make it out a little earlier.
It’s the weekend of September 26th & 27th. We’ll be in AC starting the night of the 25th with a pre-convention party and then staying through the 28th for a picnic on the beach. Check out our website if you feel like taking part in all the shenanigans: http://www.rockycon2008.com
If you need a place to crash for that weekend, I’m sure we can find you a spot. It would be great to see you, so let us know what we could do to twist your arm. Feel free to drag anyone else along with you too. It’s going to be one hell of a party.
Good luck with the move!

Dammit! I wanted you out here!
By which I mean, awesome news, even if it’s on the wrong coast. ^_~ Congrats!
Ditto that.
Clearly you’ll need to give us a full report when you visit us out in Cali next.
…which will be soon, yes? 🙂
Seriously, however, that’s awesome. I hope that things work out perfectly. Speaking of which, did you follow up on the Strange Horizons thing?
See below for information on my upcoming trip to SF.
I did follow-up on the Strange Horizons thing, and went through stage 2 of the process, which was basically reading and rating a selection of the slush pile. I’m waiting to hear back what comes next, but it’s still something I want to do because it gives me a really good feel for the range of things being submitted (both in terms of quality and in terms of style and subject matter). Reading for possible publication (or at least, passing along to the editors) makes me read differently than reading for pleasure. So, fingers are still crossed. I’ll probably announce that here too, if it comes through.
Heh. We’ll just have to arrange meet-ups at cons and such. Although, they will be shipping me to the AAA’s, which happens to be in SF this year, Nov. 19-23. I may see if I can take the few days after off and just spend Thanksgiving in California. I have to get a feel for the vibe of the place first, though.
But, at any rate, I’d be happy to squeeze in some hang time during the conference.
Oh, and part II of AAL will be winging it’s way to you tomorrow through the internets. I know it does not need to be said, but you better not have killed a particular character.
We’re going to be in Boston for Thanksgiving, leaving on the 22nd — but it might be we could hang during the conference, yes.
I refuse to answer any questions about the fates of any characters. ^_^
Woot! Congratulations! Happy trails and all that.
Dude like woah! Congrats!
Hooray!!!
That is so cool..Devon told me about it but he initially said Washington State.
Anyways, now I have an excuse to go to DC during a school break..I am very happy for you (and a little jealous)
ZOMG!!! Congratulations!
You will be missed here, but this seems like an excellent change. They will be very lucky to have you.
